A Prize Catch!

Emmaus Homes - Wednesday, October 10, 2018

From A September 1972 Emmaus Messenger

Every Wednesday during the summer months, Mr. Paul Diehr (he is the gentlemen with glasses in the photo) takes a group of Emmaus residents on a fishing excursion. Once in a while they catch a fish that they are really proud of. This happened on a recent Wednesday when Walter S., Clarence K. and Otto R. came back with this prize catch. And of course someone had to take their picture!

The results are not always this good. Like many other fishermen they often go out and come back empty handed. But what difference does it make? They still have a good time. They leave about 10:30 in the morning, at noon the have a 'cook-out,' usually roasting wieners. They they return to Emmaus at about 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Diehr deserves a word of gratitude for giving of his time to take the residents fishing. He is treasurer for Emmaus Homes, Inc., and on Wednesdays he is the contact person between Emmaus and the Central Business Office. Since he is at Emmaus anyways he plans to use a part of the day to share some of his time in a special activity with the residents. And they are grateful to him for this special interest!
